The everyday version. The black on black, no surprises, just the watch you reach for when you want something that works with everything. The original reference everyone starts with before they get into the colourful variants.
A customer in Chicago bought this as his first mod watch. He told me he'd been wearing the same digital watch since college and his girlfriend finally convinced him to upgrade. He went with this one because it felt like the safest choice! Classic, professional, hard to mess up. A month later he ordered the GMT Pepsi. He told me the dive watch had ruined him.
The black ceramic bezel, glossy black dial, and a steel bracelet. There's a reason this combination has been the standard for over 70 years. It works. It always works. Wear it with a t-shirt, wear it with a suit, wear it in the pool, wear it to a funeral. There's no situation it doesn't handle.
PS: I've actually worn a modified verion of this out for diving! Drop me a message and i might send you a picture 😂

Purchased the Mariner Black Professional. I don’t leave reviews often, but I always try to be very fair when I do.
I really enjoy the aesthetic and look of the watch, and I was planning on purchasing another 1-2 pieces if I enjoyed this one. I was just disappointed with certain, but not all aspects of the quality.
I had an issue with shipping as well, but that was not at all the fault of the seller.
At first, I felt I had decent value for the watch at the sale price of $399. Upon arrival to customs to the US, there was an additional $130 in customs fees. So about $530 total for the watch and fees. My personal feeling of value was slowly dissipating.
Upon opening the watch, the dial looked great, the bezel action was nice, and the overall feel of the watch was exceptional. I opted for the silicon strap, and that was very underwhelming. The hinges on the band were squeaking, and it really felt like poor quality material. Especially in comparison to similar style $25 straps I buy on Amazon. I immediately changed to my $25 Amazon strap.
I checked the watch on a timegrapher after being fully wound and worn for a day. It was reading -27 seconds. I was not expecting perfection, but I was expecting better time keeping than that.
Lastly, after about 3 weeks of ownership, the paint or color on the bezel insert number/second indices have already fallen off
in two different areas.
Ultimately, after changing the strap and regulating the movement, I still do really enjoy the watch and currently wear it 3-4 times a week. For me, it’s all about value. At $530, there many variations of Seiko, Glycine, Tissot etc. that could have been purchased without a strap, timekeeping, or bezel issues.
With all that said, I won’t be purchasing another, but I am happy I purchased this one and do not regret the purchase.
